You may know by now that the collections I make for All About Me are digital scrapbook collections in which journaling plays a significant role. Journaling, writing down your story, is one of the least rewarded parts of scrapbooking pages. Yet, when you come to think of it, it can give your photo's and stories so much more than just the sum of the pictures you took and the places and dates. Yet, I still see a lot of pages in which is so good to see what someone is doing with
Happy October!!! Honestly, before I started designing for digital scrapbooking I didn't like the months at the end of the year. I was kind of depressed from the moment I saw the first leaves falling until the first hopeful little green dots appearing at the end of the Winter.
But when I saw what fun it was to join all those wonderful challenges, the collections people made and the possitivity in the digital scrapbooking community about all things in Fall and the coming Wint
It's so dry and hot here in the Netherlands, that I can hardly believe it. It must be the climate change, no doubt. Even I, with my half of Asian blood, do not always like it. But... during the driest period last weeks I really enjoyed my fan! What I also like is to search for a sort of harmony in things. Like the yin and yang - dry and ... wet! So this month's collection is one that made last month complete when I designed it: I made the Diary Files for August into a water t
I had a hard time last two months. I wasn't sick with the flu once, but twice! I guess it just was my turn, because I can hardly remember myself having the flu. Okay, I still have the cough and maybe I am still a little tired from that, but I think I have beaten the virusses now! At least it's April now. And later today they think the wheather will be better. I hope so! I can hardly wait to go biking again in the countryside on my lovely bike without a helmet - like they do i
The Diary Files 2018 . A new beginning. About diaries, planners, classical pages, journaling. I always liked to keep a diary, but through the years when I was sooo busy building my life, getting married, getting 2 wonderful kids, trying to be in as many creative jobs as I could, there was not so much time for it. Or I didn't think of it. Now that the children are young adults that are still home but having a life of their own, the wish of keeping diaries, but also the need fo

The Diary Files of Berna's Playground in Summer isn't complete without a collection of digital scrapbook products inspired by the sea... It seems to me that the Summers of today are as every seasons: passing by so quicky that it's hard to capture everything. I recall the Summers of my youth as being endless and warm. And when I think of them, I can almost smell the salt of the sea, taste the crispy sand between my cheese sandwich and the watery lemonade to wash the sand away.
Oh how quick January has passed! I didn't even have the time to make my own execises and assignments! Not that it is of any matter. Anyhow, I had a wonderful short break on Malta. It was fun and very inspiring. Since it wasn't very warm and Summer-like, we could visit a lot. We saw so many great buildings, from the Medieval and later, but also a stand alone building that is even older than Stonehenge, or the pyramids in Egypt. It was amazing and I'm sure I will show you more
Oh my, My first steps In my The Diary Files inspiration guide I am talking about trees. Trees have always fascinated me. They have charm, they're stong and give us air. There is no tree in the world the same. I love to make this into one of my projects to follow a tree for a whole year. I want to start and make a choice and maybe that is the hardest part of it: choosing a tree to follow it the whole year. I think I don't make photo's of it every day. You can of course do that
It's a lot what i have to say. First, there is a website maintainance situation at the Digital Scrapbooking Studio. It wiil be back on Tuesday I guess. I didn't do this on purpose, leaving digital scrapbooking and telling I would never come back. I didn't plan to leave anyway, but that was because all the things I really wanted to learn took me so much time that I couldn't really divide my attention anymore. So I did the wonderful courses, first Make Art That Sells A and later B and Bootcamp. After that we had a Global Art Gathering in Brighton and I made it to the semi-finals when I joined the Global Talent Search. All cour
Well, I think I chose the wrong Winter fairs for my stuff after all. Not that it weren't nice markets, but I didn't make a penny. I know it has nothing to do with my style or my kind of designs, LOL, at least I hope it hasn't! But really, there were more exhibitors who found it to be really disappointing compared to last year or to their usual Christmas markets and Winter fairs sales. So now I have all my attentions to what I will do now. And I think I really like to re-open
