Berna Datema was born in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. She is married to her highschool love Harry and they have 2 wonderful children, daughter Laila (1996) and son Noah (1998). In 2004 Berna designed her first digital scrapbook collections but it wasn't until early 2007 that she became a designer at ScrapbookGraphics. Since 2016, after a big break in which she did many e-courses such as Beth Kempton's Do What You Love for Life and Lilla Rogers' Make Art That Sells, she's also back in the digital scrapbook world under the name of Berna's Playground. Her designs are for sale at Digital Scrapbooking Studio. Since September 2015 she became an independant designer and illustrator, and she sells at Society6 , They Draw and Spoonflower. In the Summer of 2021 Berna takes a break from Digital Scrapbooking, because she still has one dream: making more children's picture books! She wrote and illustrated several books which now are waiting to be published... Because of her love for illustrating, Berna also opened a webshop with printed goodies. All illustrations are of course from Berna's hand.
